Financial Counsellors can provide information and support to families and individuals who are experiencing financial problems. They can give information about rules and laws relating to payment and recovery of debts and bills; negotiate with creditors; ensure that people are receiving government assistance to which they are entitled; help with some consumer problems; assist with budgeting; provide information on bankruptcy and refer people to other organisations which may help.

WA NO INTEREST LOANS NETWORK
The WA No Interest Loans Network Inc is a not-for-profit organisation created in response to the difficulties faced by low income households in obtaining affordable credit in order to purchase essential product and services. “Low Income” is defined as anyone who holds a Commonwealth Health Care Card or Pension Card. 

WA NILS provide loans from $200 up to $1,500 without interest or charges to low income earners to purchase essential products and services. Loans are generally repaid within twelve to eighteen months and are only for new goods.  WA NILS can help make getting a loan achievable.

WA NILS operations is funded by The Department of Child Protection & The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) via Good Shepherd Microfinance.
